Prior to the Manny Pacquaio-Erik Morales II, fans of both fighters sort of did their own boxing match on the web. But unlike the fight itself, the “boxing” of the fans on-line was nothing more than dirty. Supporters of both fighters laid curses at each other, used some obscene language and really fought each other with hits below the belt. Most of them were, of course, Filipinos and Mexicans. There were some who did the job of refereeing the on-line bout but to no avail.

After the fight which Pacquiao won via an impressive 10^th round TKO, the on-line “brawl” between the avid fans of both superb superfeatherweights went worse as to include not just the personal matters of both punchers but also the very conditions of the nations the fighters represent.

Those fans should learn their lesson from the boxers themselves. Manny Pacquaio and Erik Morales gave one hell of an attractive fight. Attractive fight means a fight that was not just beautiful and scientific to behold but also entertainingly clean all throughout. Pacquaio won the clean way; Morales lost the clean way. There was actually no loser in the fight. Morales lost the fight but won the respect of Pacquaio for giving a clean fight. If there’s something dirty that went in and out of the fight, it’s the words of some fans who seem to miss the line between tempered pride and empty braggadocio.
