Pacquiao and No. 13
I got this from a contributor in PACLAND. One Pacquiao fan code named “II cool j” made this interesting analysis. What can you say Blackboard (Thanks for the comment last Ash Wednesday)?
January 22, 2006 – The entire Philippine Islands went into a frenzied celebration after our boxing hero Manny Pacquiao smothered one of the best boxers in the world, Erik Morales. Thirteen days after, February 4, 2006, the whole nation went into a shock when Wowowee’s first annivesary celebration turned into a deadly commotion, the ULTRA stampede. Another 13 days passed, February 17, 2006, from the tranquility of a relatively unknown mountainside barangay came earth, trees, boulders and water mixed together in a gigantic landslide burying alive the entire barangay, the Leyte Tragedy. March 2, 2006, exactly 13 days since the landslide, the political scene was rocked by a leadership crisis when one of the most enduring political bodies in the country was suddenly divided, the Liberal Party. Sen. Franklin Drilon, the LP President, got the ax from his members.
Is Father Time playing a cruel game with us using number 13? It started in January, the 13th month if we don’t stop at 12. I hope nothing bad will happen on March 15, or if something does happen I have a feeling time has scheduled 13 dark events since Pacquiao’s good luck before we see another reason to celebrate. I like to believe these scenarios are only matters of coincidence.

I started my blog on a Friday 13th (read http://blackboard.prepys.com/archives/2006/01/13/paraskevidekatriaphobia/). I’ve been glued to it eversince because I found it to be successful. Coincidence? We make our own destiny.
