Super Pacquiao!
Manny Pacquiao is the Philippines’ Superman! Why? Read on.
He epitomizes what many Filipinos are like: amiable, likeable, entertaining, sweet-smiling, but in the midst of a fight, he is skilled, flamboyant, maybe for some unorthodox but effective, fast and furious, hearty and, of course, winner. Do I have to mention that he is highly respectful of opponents and humble at victory?
Some of his quality victims are: Lehlohonolo Ledwaba - the African champion for many years who did not survive round 6; Julio Elicier - the former champion who lasted only two rounds; Emmanuel Lucero - undefeated before he faced Pacquiao but with just one left hook, it was all ruined for him in round 3.
And the top-level victims: Marco Antonio Barrera - probably the best pound-for-pound in the featherweight when he faced Super Pacquiao, but he was to last only up to round 11; Juan Manuel Marquez - he kissed the canvass 3x in round 1, lucky for him to escape with a disputed draw; Erik Morales - called “El Terrible” he made life terrible for Super Pacquiao in their first meeting, but in their rematch, it was “El Terrible” who suffered the most terrible loss in his career.
What can you say, pals?
