WBC Pressures Pacman
“We give you until this date and if you fail to make a positive reply, we will look for another one.”
That’s practically what the World Boxing Council (WBC) is telling Team Pacman in regard to the invitation to fight WBC Superfeatherweight king, Marco Antonio Barrera. Manny Pacquiao is rated as WBC’s #1 contender to Barrera after his convincing victory against Erik Morales. Since Manny is the #1 contender, he is expected to be more than raring to face the champion. But the Pacman’s camp has a contract to honor relative to his victory against Morales and an earlier tune-up fight with Oscar Larios has been booked to be held in Manila.
Isn’t this news a fitting confirmation of the fact that belts don’t make champions? After Manny’s win against Morales, why didn’t WBC ask him right away to take on Barrera? What took them to wait too long to ask? Is it because they wanted Team Pacman to send them the request to fight Barrera so that it would appear that the Pacman is after the belt? And when Pacman did not do their expectation, they are putting the pressure on him now to maintain the pride of their organization?
Just asking. You might need to see this.
