HBO Has Enriched Boxing
No doubt boxing worldwide has never been the same since HBO came into the picture. Name any of the most important fights in the last 20 or so years and majority of them reached the homes of millions of subscribers through the HBO coverage.

Home Box Office’s (HBO) subscription television genius has done its wondrous share in bringing more attention to boxing. Of course, it’s not always the case that HBO shows every boxing event; it only features those fights that have the quality of what best boxing should be and this has given more meaning to quality matches. If you want to watch a boxing showdown not fit for the sidewalk, then you have to pay for it. That may be a ploy to rack up revenues but as far as magnifying the sweet science of pugilism is concerned, it’s not a bad idea.
Furthermore, the pay-per-view scheme is boxer-friendly as it includes the fighters in the profit-sharing. This means that the boxers are challenged to not just give a damn fight, but to give a damn at fighting to the top-level. The more entertainment boxers bring to the encounter, the more quality they show in their styles of boxing, the bigger is the return to them in terms of monetary success. . . whether they win or lose. In fact, the loser in a high quality bout has little to lose and much to gain. The rematch is as box-office hit as the previous encounter.
Truly, HBO has enriched boxing. Would it be okay to say that HBO stands for High-quality Boxing Offer?
