Know the Solid Rock Bible Congregation (SRBC)
The Solid Rock Bible Congregation (SRBC) is an evangelical church affiliated with the Fellowship of Indigenous Fundamental Churches of the Philippines (FIFCOP) Mission. It was founded by God through the godly burden He placed in the heart of Nanay Pat Danganan and her family 29 years ago. Initially named Samat Bible Church, this relatively small body of believers was renamed Solid Rock Bible Congregation in 1990 to highlight the Lord Jesus Christ’s name in the church ID. The name Solid Rock is undeniably the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
On Christ the Solid Rock I stand. . .
so one famous hymn goes, interpretatively saying that the foundation on which the SRBC stands is Christ, the Solid Rock, in obedience to the very words of Christ Himself, “on this rock I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18).
Church Planting Ministry. In 1994, the church went on its first church planting ministry in a churchless barangay in Bauang, La Union. Rev. Jun Panlilio, then head pastor of SRBC, made himself fully available for this all important task, and together with his wife, Sis. Imelda and the enabling grace of God, he was able to plant the Solid Rock Bible Congregation in Urayong, Bauang, La Union. The SRBC Bauang was renamed to Solid Rock Gospel Services and, to date, it boasts of a strong membership of more or less 70 and still under the able leadership of Rev. Jun Panlilio.
Rockwell Kiddie School. In 1997, through the initiative of Teknotropheo, a civic-oriented non-government organization, the SRBC put up its pre-school ministry called Tekno Kiddie School. When Teknotropheo ventured into its more complicated service to the Mangyan tribe in Mindoro, the Tekno Kiddie School was completely entrusted to the SRBC and was renamed the Solid Rock Learning Center. At present the learning center is now government registered under the banner name: Rockwell Kiddie School.
The vision of the learning center is to build a community that has strong foundation on godly education anchored on biblically sound educational principles. Its mission is to provide godly education to pre-school children and to bring their parents to a realization of the importance, not just of education per se, but also of godly education.
Relief Operations Center. Super Typhoon “Gading” in 1998 wrought widespread damage in the province of Pangasinan and the SRBC was not spared from the typhoon’s fury. The unfinished building that time lost its roofing during the typhoon. The church asked help from the Philippine Relief and Development Services (Philrads) and Philrads responded by providing relief goods to about 300 affected families with SRBC as relief operations center.
The widespread flash flood in August 1999 was again another opportunity for the SRBC to reach out to flood victims in the province. The Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) through the coordination of Teknotropheo delivered relief goods to SRBC benefitting more or less 50 families. Since then, the SRBC has played an active role in relief operations.
J12 Vision. The SRBC is currently on Phase 1 of its J12 Vision–a vision to win, consolidate, disciple and send. This vision is inspired by the G12 system of Colombia and is now the flagship ministry of the church. Through the leadership of the present head pastor, Pastor Charlie Loranza, two batches of brethren have gone to the Encounter God Retreat (EGR) which serves as the spark plug for the J12 Vision. From the EGR, brethren shall go through a systematic process of winning souls for Christ, consolidating them into cell groups, discipling them in the biblical mold, and sending them to bear fruit and have their own J12 agenda.
Statement of Faith. The Solid Rock Bible Congregation believes:
That there is one God, existing in three persons: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT;
That the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and is the final authority for faith and conduct;
In the DEITY of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, in His virgin birth, in His vicarious death, in His bodily resurrection and in His second coming;
In the SALVATION of the lost, sinful man by FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ through the regeneration work of the Holy Spirit;
In the HOLY SPIRIT who convicts the world with sin, regenerates the repentant sinner, sanctifies the believer, and empowers the Christian for service;
In the RESURRECTION of both the saved and the lost, the saved unto eternal life, the lost unto eternal damnation;
In the SPIRITUAL UNITY of the believers in Jesus Christ recognizing that Christ is the Head of the Church.
Pastoral Staff. The Solid Rock Bible Congregation is under the leadership of its main overseer, Pastor Charlie Loranza. He is ably supported by two associate pastors, Pastor Joel Maneclang and Pastor Jessie Paragas, and a group of deacons and church workers.
