The G12 Vision and the EGR

There is probably a number of readers who are asking what the Encounter God Retreat (EGR) is for. Well, here’s for you if you’re one who needs some useful information about the EGR.

The EGR is part of the G12 program of church multiplication via the cell group strategy. The G12 stands for the government of 12 which was exemplified by the Lord Jesus Christ through his 12 apostles. In this program, each believer is encouraged to handle a cell composed of 12 members who will in turn have their own cells of 12 members each.

For a certain Christian to be eligible to the G12 Vision, he/she has to undergo the PEPSOL which stands for

P - Pre-encounter Program
E - Encounter God Retreat
P - Post-encounter Program
SOL - School of Leaders 1
SOL - School of Leaders 2
SOL - School of Leaders 3

If you notice, the EGR or Encounter God Retreat is the second step of the PEPSOL. The EGR is the spark of the vision to bring freedom, fire and focus to the G12 practitioner. Without the EGR, there may be little or no impact at all of whatever a practitioner will do. It is important, therefore, that anyone who embraces the G12 strategy should go through the EGR experience.

Other groups may have their own version of the PEPSOL. There are groups who actually have SOL 4. Whatever variation is done, one important thing that should never be missed is the EGR.
