PACQUIAO’S BOARD

Manny Pacquiao is not just a boxing hero for many Filipinos. He is a hero in his own right and in his own way in that he “punishes” himself to make his positive contribution to the well-being of our beloved Philippines.

Not only does he make Filipinos feel good about themselves; he also packs a great following from people around the globe. If only boxing could showcase more than the boxing prowess of boxers, our PACMAN can be a source of inspiration to marginalized people across the world.

What you say, pals?

This page gives everyone, PACMAN fan or not, Filipino or not, to write thoughts on Manny Pacquiao’s life not just as a boxer but also as person. Come join this postman in his journey to make PACMAN a man for everyone.

By the way?  What are your thougts on his December 6 meeting with boxing’s golden boy Oscar dela Hoya?  Well if you ask me, I have this bad feeling that Manny Pacquiao will have a really hard time fighting the ODLH.  Oscar’s the bigger and stronger fighter based on his height and weight advantage.

I believe, however, that the Pacman knows what he is up to.  He wouldn’t go there into that ring to be outclassed and embarrassed.  He is boxing’s pound-for-pound king.  The king will not allow anyone to disgrace his throne especially when he knows that the throne was rightfully and legally his.  Even when he has to lose, he will not lose without a giving a fight.

He knows his opponent and he knows how to get off the hook.  He may have more of the negatives of the match but he’s got some positives which when scrutinized well are enough to give the Golden Boy some dangerous golden pressures.

They say it’s a mismatch.  Well it really is if you don’t bring them to the same weight.  But when they battle each other in the same weight, the mismatch is gone.  That’s the value and importance of setting weight limits to boxing matches.  We have seen several boxers who beat bigger, taller and stronger opponents.

When they finally trade punches and rub bodies, that’s the time we can really say if it’s a mistmatch.  What do you say?
